RISBAT Workshop and 2nd Consortium Meeting in Braga, Portugal
Cooperation and innovation pathways for waste battery pre-treatment.
RISBAT is preparing for the first project workshop on 30th January hosted at the b.again facilities in Braga, Portugal, coordinated by project partner Electrão. Together with the workshop, RISBAT will hold its 2nd consortium meeting with all partners present: project coordinator Re‑Battery, SNRB, SE&C, SORTBAT, HIRO Robotics, and the National Institute of Chemistry. In addition, representatives of potential stakeholders will attend, aiming to enhance dialogue and connect the project with the market and the broader European ecosystem of recycling and the circular economy.
During the workshop and the meeting, the partners will focus on:
- Assessing the overall progress of the project to date,
- Coordinating and planning the next implementation steps
- Strengthening technical and strategic collaboration among participants.
The workshop focuses on practical solutions for improving the pre-treatment of End-of-Life Li-ion batteries, including collection, sorting, dismantling and evaluation for second life applications. Partners will share insights from national stakeholders from Greece, Portugal, and Romania, and present pathways toward safer, more circular, and cost-efficient battery management.
The programme will also include presentations from b.again, offering a recycler’s perspective on operational needs, and from Battery Cluster Portugal, providing insights on industry trends within the Portuguese battery ecosystem. Participants will additionally have the opportunity to visit b.again facilities for a first-hand look at their operations.
